Terms of Service
Last updated September 28, 2026
LessonDibs (“LessonDibs”, “we”) is operated by OPERATOR NAME. These terms are the agreement between you and us for use of lessondibs.com. By creating an account you accept them.
What LessonDibs does
LessonDibs is scheduling and record-keeping software. Teachers publish classes and private-lesson availability; families book that time, receive reminders, and see what they owe.
We are not a dance studio, a staffing agency, or a payment processor. Teachers using LessonDibs are independent — they set their own prices, policies, locations, and instruction. We do not employ, supervise, train, background-check, or endorse them, and we are not a party to the arrangement between a family and a teacher.
Payments
Lesson fees are owed by the family to the teacher directly. LessonDibs records what is due and can send a payment request, but payment itself happens outside the app — today through Venmo, between the two of you. We do not hold, transfer, or refund lesson money.
Cancellation and late-cancellation fees are set by each teacher and shown to you before you book. Disputes about a charge, a refund, or a missed lesson are between the family and the teacher. If we later add in-app card payments, we will update these terms before switching them on.
Accounts
Accounts are for adults. A parent or guardian creates the account and is responsible for it, for the accuracy of the information in it, and for anyone using it. Teacher accounts are invite-only.
Keep your login details to yourself and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
Students and safety
Students are added to the app by their parent or guardian. Each teacher may require you to accept their own liability waiver before booking; that waiver is an agreement between you and that teacher, and LessonDibs simply stores and presents it.
Supervision, safety, and the suitability of any class for any student are the responsibility of the family and the teacher.
Notifications
We send booking confirmations, schedule changes, reminders, and payment notices by email, and by text message where you have opted in. You can unsubscribe from emails using the link in any message, or reply STOP to a text. Some operational messages — such as account and security notices — are required to use the service.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no attempting to access other families' or teachers' data, no scraping, no interfering with the site's operation, no uploading unlawful or harassing content, and no using LessonDibs to arrange anything illegal.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or that creates risk for other users.
Availability and changes
LessonDibs is provided as-is and as-available. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features, and we don't promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We keep backups, but you should not treat the app as your only record of your schedule or payments.
We may update these terms; if a change is material we will say so in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use LessonDibs after that means you accept the update.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, LessonDibs is not liable for injuries, losses, or disputes arising from lessons, from a teacher's conduct or cancellation policy, or from payments made between you and a teacher. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of STATE, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Questions or complaints: CONTACT EMAIL.
